Birmingham RISE Program
BYC has a designed program that takes an inside-out approach to municipality and community development. Our inside program involves process management consulting that applies our knowledge, skills, tools, techniques relationships and systems to the municipality. This program allows us to define, visualize, measure, control, report and improve the municipality's processes with the goal to meet the city's requirements for profitably. As a benefit to our supporters and business relationships, we include the corporate community because it benefits both the public and private community!
One example of the positive outcomes produced via a portfolio management approach is evident in an ongoing BYC engagement in cities such like Columbia, SC and Birmingham, AL. We’ve created a tailored strategic framework and roadmap to fit the needs of the Mayors and City Managers. The City Manager was provided with the tools necessary to implement and manage the City's banner initiative "BUILD COLUMBIA" with an objective to utilize a simple approach to strategically re-cast the typical budget report presented annually while ensuring that the results are actionable along with providing clear direction roadmap for those departments charged with oversight. In Dekalb County, our team provided a mapping session for the CEO’s office to assist local city mayors in understanding their city annexing pros and cons.
