BYC is a 501 (C)(3) organization with specialized designed program to impact community development in urban areas. BYC works with key government leadership, researchers, developers, and consultants to establish its banner initiative of Build Your "Cityscape." We use extensive research and strategic planning to provide innovative approaches that effectively develop key economic engines and programs that empower our youth, grow neighborhoods, build business, create jobs, and advance equality.
Our community-based research explicitly recognizes and seeks to support the expansion of social structures and social progress. Thus, working together with partners and supporters to improve the overall quality of life for underserved communities specifically communities of color and low-income.
OUR PLATFORM OF CONNECTIVITY
BYC is an open-service-oriented program providing proactive resource tools and best practices that support integration between all necessary elements to build stronger communities. Our partners, researchers, and developers collectively have over 50 years of experience in providing data analysis and research, urban planning and development. Together, under the BYC platform, we offer best practices to implement our mission from training in life skills, to homeownership, to building wealth for sustainability.
Our relationships with government leaders on all levels allow us to impact policies especially in reducing barriers to affordable housing, including land use and zoning policies. We have the ability to research and explore how policies on all levels of government affect the availability and cost of housing for low-income renters and first-time homebuyers. Our development partners in turn take our research studies and data and apply them to their own housing projects; building affordable and safe homes with access to programs to ensure the community thrives for generations to come. This is one example of the BYC 360 approach and impact. Research + Social Development and Tailored Programs + Physical Development = Conscious Community Development and a Thriving Community.

Research Consulting
BYC conducts all aspects of research as it pertains to the development of our underserved communities. From behavioral and social science research to policy to affordable housing our approach is diverse and extensive. But it doesn't stop there, we apply data analytics to deliver technical assistance to solve some of the most urgent challenges citizens face. We do this work because when we look to the future, we see opportunities to close gaps that are rooted in injustice and inequality. we know that equity begins with systems that work for everyone, so we lead with expertise, follow the evidence, and never stop drawing new connections to build a better, more equitable world for the communities we serve.
Community Development
Home is where life happens, where plans are made and futures begin. The foundation for dignity, health, education, wealth, and community however good homes in strong neighborhoods are increasingly out of reach. Our vision is to provide those in need with opportunity, dignity, and hope so they can possess the tools for change in themselves, their family, and their community. BYC has the research and partners to make a real impact in homes and communities. Our relationships allow us to advance policy at every level of government. Our partners build and manage communities and focus on the greatest need – the massive shortage of affordable rental homes – to achieve three goals:

Professional & Personal Training & Development
Although we offer several educational and development programs, our uniqueness rests in the fact that we work with individuals from childhood to adult based on their strengths and weaknesses. We look at each individual from the perspective of where they are located physically, emotionally, educationally and professionally. BYC training and development programs are designed with assessments, remediation, support and evaluation. Since we believe in heavy research prior to strategy, our approach to developing each individual start with surveying to help us understand each participant’s life experiences.
Our programs are designed to address current issues that impact the lives of the community. Once we understand the individual on a personal level, we then go into business development and training through our Boss Jr. and Boss up Programs which are the bases of our 360 approach to community development. When we train and educate the people we sustain their community!
